Sapphire Room: Reviews & Ratings

This review is much overdue, but I keep remembering the experience here and need to give them some recognition. My best friend and I did a girls only weekend in parksville back in December 2021 during covid and wanted to go somewhere less casual and more upscale/classy feeling. I made our reservations a few hours before and was thankful that they could accommodate us on such short notice when they were almost fully booked. We got all dressed up and made the short drive there, only to see that the Sapphire Room is located inside an incredibly beautiful old mansion. Our server that night (I wish I could remember his name) was PHENOMENAL!!! He was incredibly quick-witted and helpful in making my food selections. I'm pretty punk and heavily tattooed. I definitely stick out in a crowd, especially a place like this, regardless of designer gear. The staff in most places on the mainland like this tend to be rude and judgmental about my appearance, but this man made me feel super welcome. Anyways, food was literally the best I've eaten on the island..ever. The presentation of the dishes was beautiful, the portion sizes were generous, drinks were delicious, and everything was completely worth the price. I believe I spent about $300 before the tip, and needless to say, I was super happy to leave a very generous tip for our server. If I ever find myself in that area again, I will totally go back.

Well who am I to argue. Yes 5 star. The Duck was tasty and the Filet Mignon cooked to perfection. The deserts, wow, lets just say the drive back home to Courtenay the belt was loosened a notch. Hint: Go early and have a cocktail in the library. Will definitely be back and a place to go if you want to impress.

The food, the service, and the atmosphere are the best in Qualicum Beach. This was the best meal I have had in this town ever. Top notch. Yes it’s the priciest restaurant in town but comparatively it is well worth it. I had the duck breast. It was cooked a perfect medium rare and nicely seasoned. My wife had the scallops and pasta. Totally fabulous! The scallops weren't overdone. They were nicely seared and plump and delicious. The fresh pasta was nicely seasoned and had a very nice mild heat. Dessert was a cheese cake with strawberry rhubarb compote and whip cream on the aide and a coconut tart with ice cream. Delicious. And the coffee was strong and beautiful. The mansion is beautiful and the grounds are gotgeous. If you want to go somewhere nice for a special occasion, this is the place.

What a jewel. Old world charm, incredible food, friendly service - a special treat in Qualicum Beach. The salads were unique, beautiful, and delicious. The Petit Filet from the Feature sheet was savoury and cooked precisely. The Halibut was thick, dense, and flavourful. Dessert was a lemon tart with little merengue drops. A little pricey but worth it- especially for a special occasion.

Fine dining. They are always great at accommodating food allergies. I had the scallops it was with a pasta. I wish I had gone with the Lamb. Next time.

The food at Sapphire Room is absolutely delicious! You can tell the chef puts so much thought and skill into every single dish — the preparation and flavors are out of this world. On top of that, the prices are right on point for the quality you get. Definitely one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend! Plus our server met our vibe

My halibut was 10/10. Cooked perfectly and the flavour was well balanced. I told my friend it may have been one of the best fancier meals I have had in a long time. They were short staffed but the chef came out and helped which was a fun addition to the evening. The power went out for little bit, they lit candles, it was a wonderful ambience, it just got really hot in the dining room!

We had mother's day dinner here and it was unbelievable! From the warm greeting when we walked in the door, the beautiful ambiance, the delicious food and the personal hello from the head chef. We ordered the scallops (opted for the gluten free risotto substitute), the pork tenderloin, and the halibut - with the prawn fonue to start. Everything was cooked to perfection and everything came with lots of creativley cooked and presented vegetables. Some of the best meals we've had in a long time - will be back for the next birthday or anniversary for sure! Before you go walk down the hall of old photos and check out the old sitting room set up at the end - so many neat antiques and artifacts!
